Discover South Tyrol – in every season
Surrounded by vineyards, lakes and mountains, there is plenty to discover around the Lindenhof. Many worthwhile destinations can be reached within a few minutes to around an hour by car – from Lake Kaltern and picturesque wine villages such as Margreid to the Bletterbach Gorge and the Dolomites.
Hiking & nature
From the vineyards to the mountains
Around the Lindenhof, themed trails such as the Kurtatsch Wine Trail lead through vineyards and the cultivated landscape of southern South Tyrol. Popular destinations and hiking areas include Fennberg, the Bärenleger above Kurtatsch, Cislon Alm near Truden and the Weißhorn.
Those wishing to venture further afield will find countless other possibilities throughout South Tyrol and nearby Trentino – from the Rosengarten and the Dolomites to the Lagorai mountain range.
Cycling
Through vineyards and along the Adige
Kurtatsch is an excellent starting point for exploring southern South Tyrol by bike. Routes through the vineyards lead to neighbouring wine villages such as Tramin, Margreid and Kurtinig. Down in the valley, the Adige Cycle Route is ideal for longer rides towards Bolzano or south into Trentino.
More ambitious cyclists will find plenty of routes with considerably more climbing on the slopes above the Adige Valley.
Lakes & summer days
On warm days, several nearby bathing lakes offer the perfect place to cool off. Lake Kaltern is one of the best-known destinations in southern South Tyrol. Fennberg Lake and the Montiggl Lakes are also ideal for a day by the water.
Days out & sightseeing
From historic streets to Lake Garda
There is plenty to discover around the Lindenhof beyond hiking trails and nature. Bolzano with its arcades, the spa town of Merano and the historic centre of Trento are all ideal for sightseeing, culture and shopping.
The picturesque wine villages along the South Tyrolean Wine Road are even closer. For a longer day trip, the Dolomites and Lake Garda are both within reach

There are plenty of ways to enjoy an active holiday during the colder months too. Winter walks through snow-covered landscapes or a day on the slopes at Seiser Alm and Paganella offer plenty of variety.
Advent
If you visit South Tyrol during Advent, a trip to one of the region’s Christmas markets is the perfect opportunity to combine festive atmosphere with a stroll around town.
And the weather?
The south of South Tyrol is one of the sunniest parts of the region. Around 300 days of sunshine a year and a mild climate with Mediterranean influences also characterise Kurtatsch.
